Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive character reveals. Yesterday's esports trailer teased T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the immediate addition to the roster. Instead, Conan the Barbarian is the focus, launching next week for premium edition owners. A gameplay trailer showcasing the Cimmerian warrior has now been released.
Conan's gameplay reflects his iconic brute strength. Expect powerful, high-damage attacks, though agility and speed may be less emphasized. His sword's reach could compensate for this, but matchups against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander will be intriguing tests.
While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some other MK1 finishers. A relatively simple acid-drowning lacks the same punch, but overall gameplay is the key factor, and Conan promises enjoyable combat.
Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while everyone else must wait until January 28th.
