Microsoft Unveils Robust Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Lineup
Microsoft's Xbox Wire preempts their January 23rd Xbox Developer Direct with a substantial announcement: the January 2025 Wave 2 Game Pass additions. The Developer Direct will showcase several day-one Game Pass titles, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth game.
This Wave 2 kicks off January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Master the slopes solo or compete in up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer.
January 22nd brings a flurry of additions:
- Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering multiplayer co-op flight and creature collection.
- Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
- Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console) launches on Game Pass Standard, a unique Japanese-inspired action strategy game.
- Magical Delicacy (Console) and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also debut on Game Pass Standard.
- Tchia (Xbox Series X|S) makes its Game Pass Standard appearance.
- Starbound (Cloud and Console) expands its Game Pass presence to Ultimate and Standard, following its PC Game Pass launch.
January 28th sees the day-one arrival of:
- Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games.
- Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a third-person shooter and trap defense game.
January 29th welcomes Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, an emotional journey through surreal dreamscapes.
A major addition on January 30th is Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC), a day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass release, offering co-op sniping action in occupied France.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass title, arrives January 31st, continuing the acclaimed dice-driven RPG experience.
Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th, setting players in a post-apocalyptic Hope County.
Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Departures (January 31st):
Several titles will depart Game Pass on January 31st, making way for the new additions: Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, Death’s Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. All platforms affected.
