Metal Gear Solid Delta Launches August 28th
Expect Extra Content!
A recent release date trailer, spotted on GameSpot's YouTube channel and the PlayStation Store, confirms the August 28th, 2025 launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The trailer showcases the game's impressive visual upgrades. While Konami hasn't yet officially shared the trailer on their social media, the news offers much-needed confirmation after nearly two years of anticipation. The long-awaited remake is finally arriving this August!
Initially slated for a 2024 release following its announcement at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, subsequent trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase and Tokyo Game Show focused on gameplay.
According to the official Metal Gear X (Twitter) account, this modern remake stays true to the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, preserving gameplay and original voice acting—hence the "Delta" designation. As they explained in a May 2023 tweet, "The Delta symbol (Δ) was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake project. Delta means ‘change’ or ‘difference’ without changing structure."
A Surprising Collaboration: Snake vs. Monkey?

Beyond the stunning visuals, the trailer holds a surprise: a potential crossover with the classic PlayStation franchise, Ape Escape. A glimpse of one of the iconic apes playfully taunting the player hints at a collaboration, though details remain scarce. The trailer ends cryptically with "And more...", suggesting further unannounced collaborations.
