Baldur's Gate III's eighth, and potentially final, major patch is now undergoing its stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, those preferring a clean experience are advised to reinstall the game before participating.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-play functionality, uniting PC and console players. Players with linked Larian accounts can now seamlessly invite friends across platforms. Remarkably, even modded gameplay is supported in cross-play, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby doesn't exceed ten installed mods.
Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Beyond cross-play, Patch 8 boasts a customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to character builds. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official page.
