Star Wars fans have reason to celebrate: Lucasfilm has revived its ambitious project to chart the sci-fi saga’s galaxy, releasing an incredibly detailed map featuring more than 500 planets.
Have you ever wondered about the distance between Tatooine and Hoth? How secluded Yoda truly was, hidden away in the swamps of Dagobah? Or how remote Jakku lies from the galactic center? Now you can get the answers.
More of the enigmatic Unknown Regions have been mapped—and yes, there’s Exegol, the Sith world from "Rise of Skywalker," which Rey had to locate using an ancient dagger aligned with the wreckage of the Death Star. If only she had this map back then, the plot might have felt clearer.
Still, Exegol isn’t the most remote world on the map—even if the film portrayed the journey there as perilous (and then half the galaxy showed up anyway). The Unknown Regions also feature Csilla, the homeworld of the mysterious blue-skinned Chiss, whose most renowned figure is Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Not every known Star Wars planet appears here. The map notably leaves out key “extragalactic” locales outside the main galaxy, such as Kamino—the cloning facility planet—and Peridea, the distant world visited in Ahsoka after the series ventures into a completely different galaxy.
Lucasfilm has promised to update the map periodically with new revisions and to release more detailed regional charts for densely packed sectors like the Inner Rim, the Colonies, and the Core and Deep Core.

You can explore the full map here, and refer to a comprehensive list of featured planets to track down exactly what you’re looking for.
On the horizon for the Star Wars universe are the second season of Ahsoka, the big-screen debut of The Mandalorian & Grogu, and Ryan Gosling’s arrival in the galaxy far, far away with the 2027 film Star Wars: Starfighter.
