The French studio Don't Nod, renowned for their work on the Life is Strange series, has unveiled the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Players can now immerse themselves in Tape 1, with Tape 2 set to be available for free to all purchasers starting April 15.
First announced in 2023, this game delves into the mysterious disintegration of a tight-knit group of friends during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer re-emerge, unleashing unforeseen and chilling repercussions.
Drawing inspiration from iconic works like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game artfully weaves together elements of nostalgia with the intensity of a psychological thriller. The story is divided into two parts: Bloom and Rage. As of February 18, fans can explore the first half of this eerie narrative.
The second installment, known as "The Tape," is slated for release on April 15. Originally planned for March, the delay aims to deliver a more refined gaming experience.
With the review embargo now lifted, OpenCritic reports an impressive average critic score of 74/100, signaling a promising debut for this enthralling mystery.
