Image Comics provides the following synopsis:
In Lost Fantasy, a hidden magical world exists beneath our own. First contact occurred over a century ago following a natural disaster, creating a rift that unleashed monsters. Since then, elite monster hunters, known as The Great Hunters, have collaborated with global leaders to safeguard our world. However, a recent massacre in Montana signals a significant shift, threatening both worlds. Rookie monster hunter, Henry Blackheart, must confront this new threat.
Pires shared his excitement with IGN, stating:
“I’m thrilled to return to Image Comics with Lost Fantasy, a series blending my love for Western comics like East of West and Something is Killing the Children with the intricate world-building and action of the JRPGs I grew up with.” He further explained the inspiration behind the title and character design, citing direct homages to Final Fantasy and Lost Odyssey.
Lost Fantasy #1 will be released on April 30, 2025. For more on upcoming comics, explore the anticipated releases from Marvel and DC in 2025.
