Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, as announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York. This exciting news, reported by Variety, follows persistent rumors about the potential return of characters from the Netflix Defenders series to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter joined her co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. She hinted at more to come for the character, promising an "incredible season."

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in the 2015 premiere of Jessica Jones on Netflix. The series ran for three seasons, and Ritter also appeared in The Defenders. As Netflix's Marvel programming concluded, fans wondered if they'd see Ritter as Jones again.
However, Disney's 2021 reacquisition of the rights to certain characters, including Jessica Jones, reignited hope. Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again fueled speculation about the return of other Netflix heroes. With The Punisher playing a key role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter will join Season 2.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in the third season, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront suggest further adventures for the character in the MCU, starting with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet set a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will premiere in March 2026.
