Warhorse Studios has just unveiled a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with version 1.2, bringing two exciting new features: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.
The Steam Workshop integration makes modding the game easier than ever by allowing players to download and install mods directly from within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. However, this feature's effectiveness hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest but growing, featuring mods such as:
- Free Saving: Replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever used or lost, granting unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.
Although the initial offerings are limited, the vibrant modding community is poised to expand quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that many creators will soon share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop may not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's expected that popular mods will soon be accessible there.

Moreover, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Choosing a new look not only refreshes your appearance but also temporarily enhances your protagonist's Charisma stat.
Update 1.2 is packed with more than just these new features. The official website's detailed changelog reveals over a thousand fixes and improvements touching nearly every aspect of the game. These include balancing tweaks, smoother animations, and more lifelike NPC behavior. The crime system, for example, has been refined for greater precision.
Additional enhancements encompass:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing realism.
- Refined horse riding mechanics and an improved horse trading system.
- Better character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in depth during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio's ongoing commitment to the game is further evidenced by three planned paid DLC expansions set to release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a slew of gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even more immersive medieval experience.
