The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch with different pricing strategies across Japan and the rest of the world. This new gaming console will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusively available in Japan, and a Multi-Language System version for global markets. The Japanese version will be priced at around $330, whereas the Multi-Language System version will cost $449.99, marking a significant price difference of over $100. This variance is largely due to the current exchange rate, with the yen being weaker against the USD, which impacts the pricing for tourists and international buyers in Japan.
For those living in Japan, there's the option to purchase the Multi-Language System version as well. However, the Japanese-language system will be exclusively available within Japan and can only be linked to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japanese region. This version will support only the Japanese language and will be limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo advises fans who prefer to use the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese to opt for the Multi-Language System version. Further details about this version will be disclosed on April 4.
