Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates

Insomniac Games has unveiled their ambitious roadmap for the future, but they've remained tight-lipped about any new developments surrounding their eagerly awaited title, Marvel’s Wolverine. In a recent interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized that while the studio is excited about their new projects, they are committed to their existing ones. However, Dezern was not ready to spill the beans on any upcoming releases, including any confirmation or denial of a 2025 release for Marvel’s Wolverine.
"As much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it," Dezern remarked.
Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021
Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced at the PlayStation Showcase 2021, where Insomniac revealed the game with a cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5.
In a 2023 interview with the YouTuber group Kinda Funny, Bryan Intihar, Creative Director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine is set in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, specifically in the universe known as "1048." Fans anticipated some form of crossover or teasers between the two games due to their announcements at the same event. So far, the only connection has been a Wolverine-themed suit named "The Best There Is" that Miles Morales can wear in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
In December 2023, Insomniac Games faced a targeted ransomware attack, which led to the brief public exposure of Marvel’s Wolverine development assets and gameplay showcases.
Insomniac Games Current Projects

Insomniac Games announced at New York Comic-Con 2025 that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be coming to PC on January 30, 2025. The studio has clarified that there will be "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2." However, the PC version will include all updates since the PS5 release, such as new suits, New Game+, and more. The game will be available in two versions: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition, the latter offering exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
