In the dynamic world of Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the use of resources is key to enhancing your gameplay experience. With seven distinct resources at your disposal, understanding how to acquire and utilize each one is crucial for unlocking gear, achieving permanent upgrades, boosting your survivability, and expanding your character roster. This guide aims to clarify the mechanics of these resources, ensuring you're fully equipped to conquer the challenges ahead.
All resources are neatly organized under the items tab in your inventory menu, making it easy to keep track of your collection.
How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker
Bright Blood is the lifeblood of Hyper Light Breaker, being the most common resource you'll encounter. You can amass Bright Blood by vanquishing foes, shattering breakable objects, and prying open crates throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can exchange unwanted gear at the Hub's vendors for a healthy dose of Bright Blood.
Utilize your Bright Blood to:
- Salvage Blades and Rails from fallen enemies in the Overgrowth.
- Unlock Stashes and other containers scattered across the Overgrowth.
- Purchase new gear from vendors located in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
- Enhance your gear's capabilities at the Hub's vendors.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Gold Rations are earned by successfully completing Cycles in Hyper Light Breaker. Early in your journey, expect to complete Cycles by exhausting all four of your Rezes through death. After using up your Rezes, head to the Hub's Telepad to meet an NPC who will request materials to reset the Overgrowth, moving you closer to earning Gold Rations.
Gold Rations fuel your meta-progression, allowing you to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. They also grant access to new services when offered to the Hub's vendors, significantly enhancing your gameplay experience.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
Securing Abyss Stones involves defeating the formidable Crowns, bosses found beyond gates in the Overgrowth. To challenge a Crown, you must first collect Prism, which are conveniently marked with yellow diamonds on the in-game map.
Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones are vital for meta-progression. Use them to boost your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, giving you a competitive edge in subsequent runs.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys can be a rare find, occasionally obtained from small containers in the Overgrowth. These caches are often hidden and not marked on the map, adding an element of surprise to your resource gathering.
Keys unlock barriers within the Overgrowth, granting access to valuable Stashes and lootable containers. They're also your ticket into Labs, underground areas teeming with enemies and treasure.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are essential for your survival, obtained by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. These precious gems are exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines in the Overgrowth, crucial for sustaining yourself during your adventures.
Before you can use MediGems, you must first expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.
How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker
Cores are another key to your meta-progression, found in Stashes across the Overgrowth, marked with chest icons on the map. Alternatively, you can craft a Core by combining four Core Shards, obtained from Prism-dropping enemies and unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.
Use Cores to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, significantly improving your Breaker's stats for better performance.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are predominantly acquired by using Bright Blood to unlock small chests in the Overgrowth, often indicated by gem markers on the map. You can also gather additional Materials by selling gear to the Hub's vendors.
Materials serve as currency to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more specific uses, focusing solely on acquiring new equipment.
