Hunt a New Beast!
The highly anticipated second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds is confirmed for the first two weeks of February! Following the success of the initial test, this second phase offers another opportunity to experience the game before its official February 28th launch. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto made the announcement via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time, hunters can face off against the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series, a feature absent from the first beta.
Character data from the first beta carries over, and can be transferred to the full game, though progress won't be saved. Beta participants receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy (attachable to weapons or Seikret) and a special bonus item pack for a smoother start in the full game.
Tsujimoto explained the second beta's purpose: "We heard many of you missed the first beta or wanted another chance, so we're providing this second opportunity." He added that the team is diligently working to finalize the full game. Note that recent pre-launch adjustments detailed in a previous YouTube update won't be included in this beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
