Honkai Nexus Anima Filed For Trademark
HoYoverse is set to expand its Honkai universe with what could be a new addition to the series. The Chinese game developer miHoYo, along with its global subsidiary HoYoverse, has filed a trademark for "Honkai Nexus Anima." While details about this new IP remain under wraps, the name suggests it might be the third installment in the Honkai series, following the successes of Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail.
The application for Honkai Nexus Anima was initially spotted on the Korea Intellectual Property Information Search’s (KIPRIS) website, which was later removed. However, the trademark remains active and visible on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) website.
The Honkai series began with Honkai Impact 3rd, a free-to-play mobile action RPG that served as a spiritual successor to Houkai Gakuen 2, a classic 2D side-scrolling shooter. Following this, Honkai Star Rail was released in 2023, another free-to-play mobile game but with turn-based gameplay.
Although both games share a thematic affinity for space and occasionally feature similar characters, they exist in separate universes and tell distinct stories. Fans are buzzing with excitement, speculating that Honkai Nexus Anima might follow this pattern while introducing a different genre, considering miHoYo’s diverse game portfolio.
New Twitter (X) Accounts
In the wake of the trademark filings, new Twitter (X) accounts named after Honkai Nexus Anima have emerged. These accounts, such as "@HonkaiNA", "@HonkaiNA_RU", and "@HonkaiNA_FR", follow a consistent naming pattern and could indicate regional variations. HoYoverse likely secured these usernames to ensure consistent branding across social media platforms, a common practice in the gaming industry.
miHoYo Recent Job Postings
Earlier this year, miHoYo released several job listings that hinted at their upcoming projects. According to GosuGamers, citing @chibi0108 on Twitter, they are reportedly developing an "auto-chess" game featuring "Destined Spirits" in battle. While direct access to the original job listing is unavailable, and these remain speculations, fans have connected these hints to Honkai Nexus Anima.
Although HoYoverse has not officially confirmed these speculations or announced the game, the anticipation is high. Given miHoYo’s successful track record with titles like Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, fans are eagerly awaiting what could be another hit in their lineup.
