Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers significant weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the effects of multiple outfits, a powerful technique with some limitations.

Remastered Version Required

The ability to utilize two outfits simultaneously is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, enabling players to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while visually wearing another.

Outfit Requirements

This technique isn't universal. While one outfit is freely selectable, the second must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, obtained from the Frozen Wilds DLC:

• Banuk Werak Runner
• Banuk Werak Chieftain
• Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)

Access to the Frozen Wilds isn't contingent on completing the main game.

Obtaining Banuk Werak Outfits

Banuk Werak Runner

Reach the Frozen Wilds by defeating the introductory machine (adjust difficulty or upgrade gear if needed). Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the outfit. Costs vary based on difficulty:

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Chieftain Adept

Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). This can be challenging; consider lowering the difficulty if necessary. The Adept version is only available in New Game Plus.

Combining Outfit Effects

Equip your desired outfit (enhance stats with Weaves as needed). Then, use the transmog feature to change the appearance to one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these offer no additional stats, they provide automatic healing after taking damage.

This strategy lets you maintain your preferred outfit's stats while gaining the auto-heal perk. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield-Weaver makes Aloy exceptionally durable.
