Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is decking the halls with its holiday-themed update, arriving December 17th! This festive event brings new outfits, decorations, and a mini-game to the post-apocalyptic world. Let's dive into the details.
New Holiday Attire and Customization
Get into the holiday spirit with brand new Christmas-themed costumes! Eve, Adam, and even the Drone receive festive makeovers:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I'm No Santa (Adam)
Eve's holiday look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Xion's Festive Transformation and Mini-Game
Xion, the last human settlement, transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").
A new mini-game adds to the festive fun. While details are scarce, it involves targeting a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.
Control Your Festive Fun: Enabling and Disabling Seasonal Content
The update introduces the ability to toggle seasonal events (including the Nier:Automata DLC) on or off. Navigate to the game's Settings, then Gameplay, and find "Seasonal Event Content." Choose from:
- Auto: Automatically enables or disables based on the season.
- Disable: Keeps seasonal content off regardless of the season.
- Enable: Keeps seasonal content on regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.
Mixed Reception: A Festive Debate
While many fans celebrated the update, some questioned the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content was also a point of contention.
