Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a recent press release, also reveals that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is promoted to president and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, assumes the CFO role.
Last year, SIE leadership was split between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This new structure places Nishino at the helm of all SIE operations, including the platform business group, with Hulst retaining his position as head of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. He stated, "I am truly honored to take the helm at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Technology and creativity are two of our biggest strengths as we continue to focus on developing experiences that deliver entertainment for everyone. We will continue to grow the PlayStation community in new ways, such as IP expansion, while also delivering the best in technology innovation.
