Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 8: A Deep Dive into New Content
Hearthstone's Season 8 has arrived, bringing exciting changes to Battlegrounds! This update introduces new heroes, minions, cards, and a revamped power-up system. Here's what you need to know.
Trinkets: The New Power-Ups
The core gameplay shift is the introduction of Trinkets. These power-ups, 56 Lesser and 60 Greater, offer diverse benefits and are influenced by your hero and board composition. Players can acquire Trinkets on turns 6 and 9, choosing from four options each time.
Marin the Manager: The New Hero
Meet Marin the Manager, the fresh face in Season 8. Marin's unique ability allows you to gain a Trinket a turn earlier, providing a significant strategic advantage.
Minions and Spells: A Roster Refresh
Season 8 sees a minion refresh, with 41 minions departing and 22 returning alongside 27 new minions and 2 brand-new Tavern spells. This ensures a dynamic and evolving metagame.
New Cards to Collect
Four exciting new cards have joined the fray:
- Free Travel Winner (Tier 2): A 2/2 minion that disappears after combat, rewarding you with a Triple Reward.
- Inspiring Underdog (Tier 4): Strengthens your lower-tier minions.
- Lucky Egg (Tier 5): Transforms a Tier 3 minion into a Golden version.
- Sun Screener (Tier 6): A 10/1 minion granting Divine Shield to your three leftmost minions and your opponent's.
Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt Event
From August 27th to September 17th, participate in the Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt event! Complete event quests to earn 14 total packs, including those from Perils in Paradise and Whizbang's Workshop.
