In India, playing cricket in a tight alley, known as a 'gully,' is often considered more enjoyable than playing on a traditional field. This unique experience has inspired 5th Ocean Studios, an indie Indian game developer, to launch their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, into Open Beta on Android.
Not Your Typical Cricket Simulation
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket breaks the mold with its 4v4 multiplayer format set in the heart of Indian gullies—narrow alleys bustling with life. This pioneering game introduces the first-ever 4v4 street cricket experience, where players must navigate rooftop catches, dodge scooters, and avoid the ire of nosy uncles concerned about their windows. Adding to the excitement, the game also supports 1v1 matches.
In Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, players can execute powerful moves and communicate with their team through voice chat, allowing for real-time sledging, emoji exchanges, and even some cheeky tactics. The game's environments are authentically Indian, featuring live neighborhood settings with broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Customization is a key feature, enabling players to create and personalize their gang with a variety of funky outfits and unlockable skins.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket Is Now in Open Beta
Currently in Open Beta, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket is set to receive numerous updates from 5th Ocean Studios, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode. Future updates will also introduce leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and intense gang vs. gang matchups.
Available exclusively on Android for now, the game is slated for release on iOS and Steam, with full controller support and cross-platform play in development. To experience the thrill of street cricket, download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
