Sony and the team at Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, a thrilling new update for God of War Ragnarök that's set to launch next week. This update brings a suite of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, enhancing the gameplay experience for fans across PlayStation 5 and PC.
In a detailed PlayStation.Blog post, Sony outlined the exciting plans for the God of War 20th anniversary, with the Dark Odyssey collection taking center stage. Scheduled to roll out as a free update on March 20, this collection offers a stunning array of cosmetic items adorned in a sleek black-and-gold motif. Not only will Kratos receive a striking new look, but companions Atreus and Freya will also get their own unique cosmetic sets. Additionally, players can customize a variety of shields and weapons to match the elegant Dark Odyssey theme.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the new appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of the legendary skin from God of War 2 that was once exclusive to those who conquered the game on God Mode. This coveted set, including the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt, can be claimed from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Furthermore, the update will introduce the much-awaited feature to customize Kratos' weapons' appearance without affecting their abilities.
