Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, the narrative unfolds after a devastating magical cataclysm that has left the populace fearful of magic. King-Sun Azra, the tyrannical ruler, capitalizes on these fears, using his Crimson Order to oppress and enslave mages. However, hope emerges as a group of valiant heroes—comprising the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr—band together to challenge his oppressive regime.
Gamers can look forward to an adrenaline-pumping experience, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and enchanting magical spells. Absolum accommodates both solo adventurers and those who prefer cooperative gameplay, allowing players to synergize their attacks and execute formidable joint strikes.
The game's auditory experience is being enriched by a trio of legendary composers: Gareth Coker, acclaimed for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, known for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundtracks of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for a 2025 release across multiple platforms, including PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
