Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group, a move that significantly increased the season's scope.
Expect a wealth of new content, including three new maps showcasing iconic New York City locations:
- Sanctum Sanctorum: Launching alongside Season 1, this map sets the stage for the new Doom Match game mode.
- Midtown: This map will be the backdrop for thrilling Convoy missions, demanding strategic combat through city streets.
- Central Park: Details on this map remain scarce, but more information is promised closer to the mid-season update.
The initial launch will feature Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist), with The Thing and Human Torch arriving in the mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
The Creative Director, Guangyun Chen, confirmed the doubled content in a recent Dev Vision video, highlighting the team's excitement in releasing the Fantastic Four simultaneously. While this supersized season is a significant event, NetEase Games hasn't clarified its impact on future content releases. For now, the expectation remains that two new heroes or villains will be added per season.
Although the absence of Blade in Season 1 disappointed some fans, the possibility of his future inclusion remains open. With the abundance of new content and ongoing speculation, Marvel Rivals' future looks incredibly promising.
