Mastering your Fortnite spending: A guide to tracking your V-Buck expenditure. Fortnite is free, but V-Buck purchases can quickly add up. This guide shows you how to monitor your spending to avoid unexpected surprises.
How to Check Your Fortnite Spending
There are two primary ways to track your Fortnite spending: directly through your Epic Games Store account, or by utilizing the helpful Fortnite.gg website. Staying informed about your spending is crucial for responsible budgeting.
Why Track Spending? The seemingly small purchases can accumulate rapidly. Think of the player who unknowingly spent nearly $800 on Candy Crush in three months! Tracking your spending helps you avoid a similar shock.
Method 1: Checking Your Epic Games Account
All V-Buck transactions are recorded in your Epic Games Store account, regardless of platform or payment method. Follow these steps:
- Visit the Epic Games Store website and log in.
- Click your username in the top right corner, then select "Account" and then "Transactions."
- On the "Purchase" tab, scroll through your transaction history, clicking "Show More" as needed.
- Identify entries labeled "5,000 V-Bucks" (or similar). Note the V-Buck amount and its equivalent currency value for each purchase.
- Use a calculator to sum your total V-Bucks and total currency spent.
Important Considerations: Free Epic Games Store games will appear in your transactions, so you'll need to filter those out. V-Buck card redemptions may not always display a dollar amount.
Method 2: Using Fortnite.gg
As highlighted by Dot Esports, Fortnite.gg offers a method for tracking your spending, though it requires manual input:
- Go to Fortnite.gg and log in (or create an account).
- Navigate to "My Locker."
- Manually add each outfit and cosmetic item you own by clicking on it and then "+ Locker." You can also search for items.
- Your locker will then display the total V-Buck value of your items. Use a V-Buck to dollar converter to estimate your total spending.
Neither method is perfect, but they provide reasonable estimates of your Fortnite expenditure.
Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
