Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam – a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This exciting title recently received an update adding Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese language support, with German, Italian, and Spanish coming soon.
The game casts players as hunters of mischievous Fantasma creatures. Using portable electromagnetic fields (instead of traditional bait!), players lure these paranormal entities into AR battles. Players then use their phones to aim and shoot at the Fantasma, reducing their health until they can be captured in special bottles.
Fantasma creatures appear based on your real-world location, encouraging exploration. Sensors can be deployed to expand your detection radius and attract Fantasma from further away. Cooperative gameplay is also possible, allowing players to team up for a more social experience.
Fantasma is free-to-play (with in-app purchases) and available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download it today and start your Fantasma hunt! For more AR gaming options, check out our list of the best AR games for iOS.
