Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces an exciting new ranged class, the Ironeye, ahead of its release in May. Dive in to learn all about this sniper class and how it's set to transform your gameplay!
Nightreign Reveals 6th Class, Ironeye
A Deadly Ranged Sniper
Elden Ring: Nightreign has unveiled the Ironeye, a new sniper class that promises to shake up ranged gameplay with its focus on swiftness and dexterity. The character trailer gives us a thrilling look at the Ironeye in action, equipped with a formidable bow and arrow setup. Watch as the Ironeye demonstrates its agility by scaling walls to execute breathtaking mid-air attacks. This class also introduces a new aiming system designed to make headshots more accessible, and even features a riposte move executed with a bow and arrow, striking directly at the heart of an enemy.
During the Nightreign closed network test last February, players had the opportunity to explore four of the eight playable classes: the versatile Wylder, the robust Guardian, the agile Duchess, and the mystical Recluse. With the Ironeye marking the sixth class, anticipation is building for the reveal of the final two classes, expected to be announced later this month as the game's May release approaches.

The introduction of quality-of-life improvements, such as the new aiming system, has sparked hope among fans that these enhancements will also find their way into the original Elden Ring. Such changes could make bows a more viable and appealing weapon choice, especially considering their historical underuse in favor of melee combat.
Social media platforms like Reddit have highlighted the community's past reluctance to use bows as a primary weapon in the original Elden Ring, largely due to the dominance of melee builds. However, the Ironeye's powerful demonstration of ranged capabilities might just encourage more players to explore a sniper-focused build in Nightreign.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone adventure set in the Elden Ring universe, is scheduled for release on May 30th, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99. For more detailed information on the game, be sure to check out Game8’s comprehensive article!
