Funcom has released an enthralling new trailer for Dune: Awakening, their upcoming multiplayer survival game set in the iconic universe of Frank Herbert's "Dune." The trailer highlights the vast, treacherous deserts of Arrakis, giving players a sneak peek into the myriad challenges and opportunities they will encounter.
In Dune: Awakening, exploration is at the heart of survival. Players will need to traverse the dangerous dunes to collect vital resources necessary for crafting shelters and vehicles, including combat-ready ornithopters. To streamline resource gathering, players can use a scanner, and by placing probes on high ground, they can uncover important points of interest across the map.
These points of interest include everything from crashed spacecraft to deserted outposts. Accessing these locations often demands creativity and the use of specialized tools such as grappling hooks, power belts, and other unique gear. All equipment can be enhanced at the player's base with modular components, ensuring they are well-equipped to face the perils of Arrakis.
The early access launch of Dune: Awakening is scheduled for May 20, and it will be available exclusively on PC. Console versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are planned for a later release. In the lead-up to the launch, players can start creating their characters and assess their system's performance with the benchmark tool available on Steam.
Don't miss out—Dune: Awakening will enter early access on Steam on May 20. The game's Steam page already offers a character editor and performance-testing tools. The full release will extend the experience to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing the vast world of Arrakis to even more players.
