Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG merging Disney and Pixar characters in a unique universe, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game is already unavailable on the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining gameplay before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam encourages remaining players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Initial excitement among Disney fans quickly waned due to a lengthy beta period and inconsistent content updates. The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant investment for character maximization, further contributed to player attrition. Despite these drawbacks, the game boasted impressive character designs and high-quality graphics.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The sudden announcement, following a recent content update introducing Cinderella as a playable character, surprised many players. This isn't Kabam's first EOS; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
