Hideo Kojima made a thrilling announcement at SXSW 2025 in Austin, TX, unveiling an epic new trailer for "Death Stranding 2: On the Beach" and confirming the game's release date.
"Death Stranding 2" is set to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5. However, fans who opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition will enjoy early access starting from June 24.
The trailer, lasting 10 minutes, showcases a mix of cinematic sequences and gameplay, featuring a character that has caught fans' attention due to his striking resemblance to Snake from Kojima's renowned Metal Gear series. Played by Italian actor Luca Marinelli, the character named Neil is seen donning a bandana reminiscent of Snake and leading a team of eerie soldiers, wielding an assault rifle.

The trailer further enhances the Metal Gear atmosphere with the introduction of the Magellan Man, a massive tar-like creature reminiscent of Metal Gear Rex. This creature, included as a 15" statue in the Collector's Edition, is shown being operated like a Pacific Rim-style mech, engaging in battles against enormous tar monsters.

Pricing for "Death Stranding 2" includes the standard edition at $69.99, the Collector's Edition at $229.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $79.99. Pre-orders will be available starting March 17.
Continuing the narrative from the 2019 "Death Stranding," "Death Stranding 2" carries the thought-provoking tagline, "Should We Have Connected?" The official synopsis reads:
