As Days Gone fans eagerly await its highly anticipated remastered version, Sony's Bend Studio has revealed exciting new accessibility features that will be available in the updated release. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister outlined several enhancements aimed at making the game more inclusive for all players.
One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down gameplay by increments of 100%, 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This adjustment caters specifically to gamers who find themselves under pressure during intense scenarios, particularly when fending off hordes of Freakers. As McAllister noted, this change ensures the unique combat experience remains enjoyable while reducing stress.
Other notable accessibility improvements include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and audio cues for collectibles. Additionally, the auto-complete Quick Time Event (QTE) option, previously exclusive to Easy mode, will now be available across all difficulties from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio confirmed that most of these features will also roll out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain controls requiring a compatible controller may vary depending on platform compatibility.
The remastered edition introduces further refinements such as an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, alongside the accessibility upgrades. Originally teased in February, Days Gone Remastered is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Current PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10.
