After the tea ceremony in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, it's crucial to confront Wakasa, who is revealed to be the Golden Teppo of the Onryo. Choosing to confront her will lead to the swift resolution of her identity and a straightforward way to eliminate her.
When you decide to confront Wakasa, she'll invite Naoe to her home for a private discussion. Upon entering her abode, you'll notice the kasa (straw hat) she wore during the prologue hanging on her wall, confirming you've targeted the correct person. After a brief exchange of dialogue, you can quickly end the mission by grabbing Wakasa's Teppo from the wall and shooting her point-blank.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
If you mistakenly choose to confront Otama after the tea ceremony, you'll still be able to kill Wakasa, but the path to doing so becomes much more challenging. Confronting Otama leads Naoe to chase and kill her, but a letter found on Otama reveals her own corruption. Meanwhile, Wakasa uses this time to fortify herself within Osaka Castle with her soldiers.
To reach Wakasa, you'll need to travel to Osaka Castle, either fighting through her soldiers or attempting to sneak past them. Even if you've unlocked the nearby Osaka Tenshu fast travel point, you'll still encounter standard enemies. A direct assassination attempt on Wakasa won't suffice, leading to a one-on-one boss fight. While the fight isn't overly difficult, choosing to confront Wakasa directly from the start avoids this extra hassle and provides a more satisfying cinematic kill, especially given her role in Naoe's father's death.
