Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The game's servers will be closed on September 30th, 2024, at 7:00 AM UTC, ending its nearly six-year run on Android.
Why the Shutdown?
Revue Starlight Re LIVE, a direct continuation of the anime, offered a strategic battle system using the Stage Girls' unique skills, alongside an auto-battle option. However, its performance has been lackluster over the past five and a half years. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Storyline inconsistencies, such as the abrupt shift from The Giraffe character to a new, less compelling narrative, further hampered the game's success. The shutdown affects the game globally, including Japan.
Despite its shortcomings, the game boasted a positive soundtrack featuring songs from the anime, along with visually appealing 3D graphics and Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is ending soon, players still have a few weeks to enjoy it. Developers are launching several campaigns in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration with two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events scheduled for the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store for one last hurrah.
