Marmalade Game Studio has thrilled fans of the classic murder-mystery game by releasing the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version of Clue, also known as Cluedo. If you're a fan of this timeless game, you'll be excited to dive back into the mystery with some of the iconic characters from the 2016 edition.
Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The pack includes beloved characters such as Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. This new pack focuses solely on these characters, giving you the flexibility to use them in any scenario you desire, without being bound to specific crime scenes or case files. It's your chance to pick your nostalgic favorite and let the mystery unfold. What's more, you can even mix these classic characters with the newer 2023 cast for a unique gameplay experience.
The community has been vocal about their desire to see these characters return, especially after the introduction of the more modern 2023 characters. It's great to see Marmalade Game Studio responding to fan feedback by bringing back these beloved suspects.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new game mode called the Retro Rules Set, which harks back to the original 1949 rules. This mode is available to players at no extra cost, adding even more value to the game.
The Retro Rules Set revives old-school mechanics that alter how you move and make accusations. For instance, tokens start at designated spots on the board, and Miss Scarlet traditionally makes the first move—unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard takes her place. You can only make accusations while in a room, and Clue Cards are eliminated from this mode. Additionally, you cannot move through squares occupied by other players, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.
