If there's one thing you can say about mobile developer AppSir, it's that their games are always worth a look. Whether it's our glowing review of Spooky Pixel Hero or their other releases, AppSir consistently delivers distinct indie fun. Their latest title, Climb Knight, is no exception.
You might be thinking, "Didn't you already cover Climb Knight?" Yes, we did, and we gave it a fairly positive review. Surprisingly, the team at AppSir was genuinely taken aback by the warm reception Climb Knight received. In celebration, they've announced a major free update set to launch on February 25th.
What can you expect from this update? Three new one-bit minigames and an intriguing new advisor character inspired by Apple Newton shareware. Given AppSir's track record with spooky releases, there's likely more to this advisor and the new gameplay than meets the eye.
Climbing upAppSir proves that a dedicated indie developer can break the mold and find success on mobile platforms. While I wouldn't label them as the "New Blood" of smartphones, their work shares similarities with the excellent Faith trilogy, especially in their spooky, retro aesthetic.
