Capcom surprised audiences during today's September 2025 Nintendo Direct with the announcement that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem are all headed to the Nintendo Switch 2.
The three most recent mainline Resident Evil titles were featured in the Direct, with a confirmed Switch 2 launch date of February 27, 2026, for all three. While Biohazard and Village are already familiar to fans, the new trailer provided a fresh glimpse of gameplay for Requiem, which is scheduled to launch simultaneously on other platforms.
"Face terror like never before in the ninth chilling installment of the Resident Evil franchise," the official description states. "Journey back to a desolate, abandoned Raccoon City in a gripping survival horror adventure, complete with the series' signature combat, investigation, puzzle-solving, and resource management."
With the launch still months away, many details about Resident Evil Requiem remain under wraps. We recently had the chance for a hands-on preview just a few weeks ago, followed by an in-depth interview with the Capcom development team.
More will be revealed when Resident Evil Requiem arrives in February. As for the Switch 2 ports of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village, both will be the comprehensive Gold Edition versions, including all additional content for each game.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 8: Village, and Resident Evil 9: Requiem land on Switch 2 early next year. While we await any news on Leon S. Kennedy, you can see every announcement from the September 2025 Nintendo Direct here.
