Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In response to this new competitive element, Capcom has issued a stern warning against cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings.
In a recent post on the Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom made it clear: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." The company is committed to maintaining a level playing field for all players.
Capcom's warning extends beyond individual cheaters. They've also cautioned that players participating in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could face consequences, including invalid quest completion times and the revocation of rewards for the entire party. "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," Capcom advised. The company encourages players to report any instances of cheating they encounter during their quests.
The new quests will offer exciting cosmetic pendants as rewards. Some will be available to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This makes Capcom's stringent measures against cheating understandable, as they aim to preserve the integrity of the rewards and competition.
