Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two beloved game modes and a classic map this week, hot on the heels of its recent launch. Treyarch, the developer, announced via Twitter (X) that the popular "Infected" mode arrives tomorrow, followed by the iconic Nuketown map on November 1st.
Infected and Nuketown Enhance Black Ops 6's Post-Launch Content
Infected, a staple in the Call of Duty franchise, pits players against AI-controlled zombies. Nuketown, a fan-favorite map first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), provides a fast-paced, action-packed 1950s-themed nuclear test site battleground. Activision previously confirmed a plan for regular post-launch content additions, building on the 11 standard multiplayer modes (including four alternate modes without Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode) already available at launch.
Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Numerous Bugs
A recent update addressed several post-launch issues in both multiplayer and Zombies modes. Improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in several core game modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight). Activision stated that they are actively monitoring XP rates across all game modes.
The update also fixed the following:
- Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, Operator animation issues (Bailey), and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to exit the intended play areas on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also improved.
- Multiplayer: Fixed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, prevented private matches from forfeiting with zero players on a team, and resolved a persistent sound issue with the Dreadnought Scorestreak missile.
Further updates are planned to address remaining issues, such as player deaths upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy. Despite these initial post-launch challenges, Black Ops 6 is widely considered one of the best Call of Duty titles in recent years, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
