Koei Tecmo has unveiled a new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game spin-off of their popular fighting game franchise.
Launching March 27th for PS5, PS4, and PC, the game will feature a special Asian "global version" with English text support. Players can engage in mini-games, customize character appearances, and soak up the tropical island setting. The developers promise numerous opportunities to build relationships with the heroines and become fully immersed in the romantic narrative.
Venus Vacation PRISM represents a bold departure for Dead or Alive fans, offering a significantly different gameplay experience while retaining the series' distinctive aesthetic.
However, even this venture has its limitations, as highlighted by the ongoing battle against fan-made content. Koei Tecmo annually removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images featuring the game's characters. The Dead or Alive series, known for its gameplay and attractive female characters often depicted in swimwear during combat, naturally inspires fan-created "adult" content. While appreciating fan art, the developers actively combat this specific trend.
