The Battle of Polytopia has injected a thrilling new competitive element: Weekly Challenges! This free update offers a fresh way to test your strategic mettle in this beloved 4X game.
From Randomness to Rigorous Competition
Polytopia’s charm lies in its unpredictable nature—shifting enemies, fluctuating resources, and ever-changing maps. The new update, however, introduces a structured competitive arena. Each week, all players face identical conditions: the same map, tribe, and gameplay parameters. The challenge? Maximize your score within 20 turns. With a limit of one attempt per day, you'll have seven chances to climb the ranks.
This innovative feature lets you command tribes you might not own. The game boasts 16 tribes—four included in the base game and twelve available for purchase. In Weekly Challenges, however, everyone plays as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Elevate Polytopia’s Excitement?
Absolutely! This new mode also introduces a dynamic League system. Starting in the Entry League, your progress hinges on your weekly performance. The top third ascends, the bottom third descends, and the middle remains stable. Difficulty scales with your league; Entry League features Easy AI, while Gold League pits you against Crazy difficulty bots. Skipping a week won’t demote you, but your ranking will adjust based on other players' performance.
