Ayaneo, a Chinese handheld gaming device company founded in 2020, initially known for its Windows-based handheld PCs, made a splash at GDC 2025 in San Francisco with the unveiling of its first Android gaming devices. This expansion into the Android market marks a significant step for the company.
Ayaneo showcased two exciting new devices: the Ayaneo Gaming Pad, an Android gaming tablet, and the Ayaneo Pocket S2, a new handheld console. Both devices share a powerful core: Qualcomm's Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 platform, a first for this hardware in the gaming market. This platform promises significant improvements in CPU and GPU performance compared to its predecessor.
Meet the New Ayaneo Android Gaming Devices
The Ayaneo Gaming Pad is an 8.3-inch Android gaming tablet boasting a stunning 1440p resolution display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Features like hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution elevate the visual experience. Fast and stable online gaming is ensured with Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Its premium design includes a glass back and a CNC-machined metal frame. Surprisingly for a gaming tablet, it also features a high-quality camera system: a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP front-facing camera.
Complementing the tablet is the Ayaneo Pocket S2, a handheld console featuring a 6.3-inch 1440p display. Gamers will appreciate the upgraded Hall-effect joystick, linear triggers, and dual X-axis motors for enhanced haptic feedback. Ayaneo's proprietary gaming software, AyaSpace and AyaHome, provide streamlined game management and customization options. Like its tablet counterpart, the Pocket S2 leverages the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 platform for improved energy efficiency and performance, including hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
