Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, launching this March, has added a notable voice actor to its cast. Mackenyu Arata, renowned for his portrayal of Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's One Piece, will lend his voice to a key character, Gennojo, in both English and Japanese.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Gennojo Revealed
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces Gennojo, a complex and compelling character described by Ubisoft as charming, reckless, and deeply conflicted. Driven by guilt, he seeks to dismantle a corrupt system. A charismatic rogue with a blend of wit and deception, Gennojo's strong sense of justice motivates him to aid the vulnerable while risking everything to achieve his goals.
While the exact point of Gennojo's introduction remains undisclosed, his role as a crucial ally is confirmed. Mackenyu himself revealed Gennojo's affiliation with the "Shinobi League" and hinted at the possibility of recruiting him as a companion throughout the game. This suggests Gennojo will play a significant part in the game's narrative and missions.
