SoMoGa Inc. has released an updated version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This 16-bit RPG classic boasts enhanced visuals, a modernized user interface, and controller support.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay was resurrected on iOS in 2008 by SoMoGa. This latest iteration offers significant improvements.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The revamped Vay features over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty, catering to various player skill levels. The inclusion of auto-saving and Bluetooth controller support enhances playability. Players can acquire new equipment, level up characters to learn new spells, and utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.
The Story:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, Vay's narrative unfolds on the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay. A colossal, malfunctioning war machine crashes, causing widespread destruction. The player embarks on a quest to rescue their kidnapped wife, a mission that could ultimately save the world. The wedding day attack and subsequent abduction initiate an epic journey to thwart the destructive war machines.
Vay's compelling story blends nostalgia with fresh elements, staying true to its JRPG roots with experience and gold earned through random encounters. The game includes nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio options.
Download the premium version of Vay, priced at $5.99, from the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our other articles.
