Fans of the iconic '90s film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don Cher Horowitz's unforgettable yellow and plaid once again. The actress is reportedly reprising her role in a new sequel series for Peacock, according to Variety. While plot details remain under wraps, we know this series will continue the story from the beloved 1995 movie.
This project marks a fresh start, distinct from Peacock's previously planned Clueless spin-off announced in 2020. The creative team behind the new series includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot. They'll be joined by writer Jordan Weiss, and together, they will also serve as executive producers alongside Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to produce the series.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has transitioned to the small screen. From 1996 to 1999, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN, starring Rachel Blanchard as Cher instead of Silverstone. Silverstone herself recently revisited her iconic role in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten, indicating her enthusiasm for returning to the character. Clearly, she's eager to step back into Cher's fashionable world, and fans are just as excited to see her do so.
