Coming May 6
The developers at Schell Games, in collaboration with publisher Innersloth, have officially announced the release date for Among Us 3D. On April 16, the game's official Twitter (X) account shared that Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025.
Originally titled Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience, including cross-play multiplayer. Just this week, the developers introduced a new currency called Stardust, which never expires and offers players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D introduces a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a variety of new and returning mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct entity from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Cross-play between the two games is not available. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is designed to be a completely different game.
The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now available for wishlisting on Steam, and Schell Games has launched a wishlist campaign called the Powered By Wishlists Challenge. This campaign offers fans the chance to unlock in-game rewards by reaching specific wishlist milestones. The rewards include:
- 333,333 Wishlists: A new hat
- 444,444 Wishlists: Another new hat
- 555,555 Wishlists: A cosmetic surprise
- 777,777 Wishlists: Suspiciously new and exciting cosmetic(s)
While the final two milestone rewards remain undisclosed, fans can anticipate some fantastic loot to kick off their journey as crewmates. Mark your calendars for the release of Among Us 3D on PC, set for May 6, 2025.
