Hibou not only helps keep you safe but also ensures your family stays informed. Whenever you head out for an activity, simply check in so your loved ones can stay updated on your status.
By utilizing GPS technology and integrated timers, Hibou empowers you to enjoy all your favorite activities worry-free. Whether you're climbing your backyard hill, heading out for an afternoon of skiing, or traveling across the globe, Hibou has your back. Just press the activity button in the app, set the timer for the expected duration (up to 24 hours), and enjoy your time. Once you return safely, stop the timer. If you don’t return before the timer ends, you can always extend it with a simple button press.
If you ever find yourself in distress and unable to ask for help directly, Hibou will step in. When your timer runs out, alerts will be sent to your pre-selected contacts. They’ll receive a notification that you’re overdue along with your last known location. From there, assistance can quickly be arranged.
Hibou also offers a daily automated wellness check service, giving your loved ones peace of mind knowing you’re safe. One or two times a day at a scheduled time, you’ll confirm your well-being through the app, website, or phone system. If you miss your check-in, reminders will be sent via app notification, email, or phone call. You'll then have a grace period with additional reminders. If you still haven't responded by the end of this period, your circle members will be alerted about the missed report.
Additionally, Hibou features a dedicated help button. Pressing this button instantly sends a notification and your GPS location to your contacts. While calling 9-1-1 is always advised in emergencies, sometimes notifying your family or friends that you need support is the best course of action.
