Duck Hunt is a classic light gun shooter video game that offers simple yet engaging gameplay. In the game, players take on the challenge of shooting ducks as they fly across the screen. Ducks appear one or two at a time, and players have three shots to hit as many as possible before they vanish. Each successful shot earns points, and hitting the required number of ducks in a round allows the player to progress to the next level. Failing to meet this target results in a game over.
As players advance through the rounds, the difficulty steadily increases. Targets move faster, making them harder to hit, and the minimum number of ducks that must be shot per round rises. Players earn bonus points for clearing all ten targets in a single round, adding an extra layer of challenge and reward.
The game keeps track of the player's highest score during a session, though this record resets when the game is turned off.
