Design your own cross-stitch patterns with the Cross Stitch Pattern Creator! This app comes with four free sample patterns to get you started. Activation is a one-time purchase of $2.99. A tablet is recommended due to the size of the patterns.
To begin creating, simply select the "Create a Cross Stitch Pattern" button. The Cross Stitch Pattern Editor will open, allowing you to fill squares with DMC floss colors. You can even add your own custom colors.
Use the pencil tool to fill squares and the eraser to remove them. Choose from over 80 stamps and borders to enhance your designs.
The button bar features (from left to right):
- DMC Floss Color: Select your floss color.
- Save: Save your pattern.
- Pencil: Fill in squares.
- Eraser: Erase filled squares and backstitches.
- Backstitch: Select a color, then add backstitches.
- Backstitch Move: Drag backstitches to reposition them.
- Backstitch Move Stitch End: Move individual ends of a backstitch.
- Stamps: Add pre-made stamp designs.
- Borders: Add borders that automatically wrap around your pattern.
- Dropper: Extract a color from your pattern to add more of it.
- Bucket: Fill a selected area with the current color.
- Bucket+: Replace a color with the current color.
- Undo: Undo your last action.
- Redo: Redo an undone action.
- Selection Box: Select an area for cutting, copying, rotating, or flipping.
- Cut: Cut the selected area.
- Copy: Copy the selected area.
- Paste: Paste a copied area.
- Rotate: Rotate the selected area or the entire pattern.
- Flip Right/Left: Flip the selected area or the entire pattern horizontally.
- Flip Top/Bottom: Flip the selected area or the entire pattern vertically.
- Zoom In: Magnify the pattern.
- Zoom Out: Reduce the pattern size.
- Symbols: Display unique symbols for each color.
- Picture: Convert a picture from your device into a pattern.
- Social Media: Share your pattern via social media.
Resize bars are located in the bottom right corner. Option settings allow you to customize the grid color, fill style (solid or X's), and row/column counter display. An instruction page shows DMC colors and finished sizes for different Aida cloth sizes. A "Finished Product" page previews your pattern as a finished cross-stitch, allowing you to change the fabric color.
