Button Mapper revolutionizes the way you interact with your device by allowing you to remap custom actions to your hardware buttons. With this powerful tool, you can easily assign a single press, double tap, or long press to launch any app, shortcut, or perform a custom action.
Button Mapper supports remapping on a wide range of physical and capacitive buttons, including volume buttons, assist buttons, and capacitive home, back, and recent apps keys. It's not limited to your phone either; you can remap buttons on gamepads, remotes, and other peripheral devices.
Most actions don't require root access, making Button Mapper accessible to a broad audience. However, some advanced features may need an adb command from a connected PC if your device is not rooted. Note that Button Mapper won't work with the screen off unless your device is rooted or you use an adb command.
Here are some exciting examples of what you can achieve with Button Mapper:

If you encounter any issues, ensure that the Button Mapper accessibility service is enabled and allowed to run in the background. Note that Button Mapper does not work with onscreen buttons (such as soft keys or the navigation bar) or the power button. The options available in the app depend on the buttons on your phone, so not all phones will have home, back, and recents buttons.
Button Mapper uses Accessibility services to detect when physical or capacitive buttons are pressed, allowing them to be remapped to custom actions tailored to your needs. Rest assured, it does not monitor your typing. Button Mapper respects your privacy and does not collect or share any personal information.
The app also uses the Device Administrator permission (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN) to lock the screen if the "Turn screen off" action is selected. If you wish to remove this permission, you can do so by opening Button Mapper, clicking on the menu (three dots in the upper right corner), and selecting "Uninstall."
